My Philosophy
I have been practicing psychotherapy for over 25 years. Throughout the years I struggled with the fact that I had to send my clients to other providers for their health and nutrition needs, costing them more time and money, but also requiring building new relationships. Building a relationship is, in my opinion, the first step and one that a client shouldn't have to take again. My approach is integrative and I believe we need to work with the body and mind as one unit.
At the age of 45 I became a Certified Personal Trainer so that I could incorporate physical activity with clients during therapy.
My Journey
I have had a love for health and fitness for most of my life, playing sports in my early years and then transitioning into a gym setting for my workouts in my late teens. As a teenager I struggled with an unhealthy relationship with food, at times restricting it trying to achieve the "ideal" body image. I learned the importance of fueling my body the right way once I began resistance training. This required eating clean whole foods to achieve the results I was looking for.
After having children, I decided it was more important to prioritize looking after my family over myself. Following a traumatic event I resumed my exercise and health goals. I understood how crucial it was to take this action in order to feel better.
